2. Description of Service

SelfNote is a personal diary and note-taking application. It allows users to write, store, and interact with their personal notes through an artificial intelligence assistant.

3. User Accounts

• Age Requirement: You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum legal age in your jurisdiction) to use SelfNote. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement.
• Account Security: To use certain features of SelfNote, you must register for an account. You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and are fully responsible for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security.

4. User Content and Ownership

• Your Ownership: You retain all rights and ownership to the text, notes, and diary entries ("User Content") you submit to SelfNote.
• License to Process: By using SelfNote, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, and process your User Content solely for the purpose of operating the Service and providing you with AI-assisted features.
• AI Training Privacy: We respect the highly personal nature of your diary. Your User Content is processed to provide you with the Service, but we do not use your personal entries to train our foundational AI models.
• Content Restrictions: You agree not to upload content that is illegal, defamatory, abusive, or violates the rights of any third party.

5. Artificial Intelligence Disclaimer

SelfNote utilizes third-party AI technologies to analyze notes and generate responses.

• Accuracy: AI-generated content may sometimes be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate. You should not rely solely on the AI for factual information.
• Not Professional Advice: The AI assistant is designed for productivity and personal reflection. It does not provide medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please consult a qualified professional.

6. Acceptable Use Policy

When using SelfNote, you agree not to:

• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or hack the Service.
• Attempt to bypass, exploit, or manipulate the AI's safety filters or core instructions (e.g., prompt injection attacks).
• Use the Service in any way that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair our servers or networks.
• Use the Service for any unlawful purposes.

7. Intellectual Property

The SelfNote application, including its original code, design, features, and functionality, is owned by SelfNote and is protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

8. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service at our sole discretion, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including but not limited to a breach of these Terms of Use. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. You may request the export or deletion of your User Content prior to account deletion, subject to our Privacy Policy.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. SelfNote makes no warranties, expressed or implied, regarding the availability, reliability, accuracy, or security of the Service. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SelfNote and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from (a) your use or inability to use the Service; (b) any unauthorized access to or alteration of your transmissions or content.

11. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect. By continuing to access or use our Service after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.
